Constructive 2023
Learning from Local and International Leaders

3 August

The building and construction sector is navigating another downturn. The actions we take now as a sector and as individual businesses will determine if we can emerge stronger. This year’s Constructive Forum will address how we can support our sector and strengthen the country’s economy.

The issues we are facing are not unique, nor are they new. We have been facing these challenges, shared by many other countries, for far too long. We will hear from international leaders to understand what has worked in their countries and how these solutions could be applied here. Specifically, Australia has managed the boom-bust cycle to have a shorter and less dramatic bust. In the UK, the Considerate Constructors Scheme has helped the sector navigate changing issues and demands over the past 20 years. Joining our impressive lineup of speakers and panelists from across the New Zealand construction sector are international speakers from Master Builders Australia and the past CEO of the UK’s Considerate Constructors Scheme.

We will also present our annual State of the Sector survey, to understand the issues facing the sector and those being felt by homeowners. This year we will also hear the response from political leaders, as we head towards to polls. Constructive will provide insights into the big issues facing the sector, as well as practical ways we can all help to drive productivity and start to make the changes sorely needed in our sector – including consenting, contracts, and procurement negotiation. It’s time to say enough to the issues that have plagued our sector for at least 50 years.

Constructive will be held in Auckland from Wednesday 30 August to Thursday 31 August at the Pullman Hotel.
